Talk With Your Partner Before Making the Relationship Intimate

If you want to take your relationship to the next level you need to talk to your partner.
Ensuring you both have the same expectations is one of the most important things you can do before moving forward in your relationship.

Once you have decided that you are ready to become intimate with your partner you need to think about the type of relationship you would like your relationship to be and what you are and are not willing to do once you become sexually active together.
Once you have thought about what your expectations of both your partner and the future of the relationship are you will need to talk with your partner about a number of things including:
What type of contraception you will be using?
Do you want a monogamist sexual relationship?
Are you willing to experiment in the bedroom and if so how far are you willing to go?
If you are a woman it may be a good idea to use another form of contraception as well as a condom to ensure there is no risk of transmitting STI's.
You can of course visit a clinic with your partner where you can both be tested before you decide if you will be using condoms as well.
Discussing monogamy is very important.
By doing so both parties know where they stand and there can be no confusion regarding having other sexual partners.
Experimentation can spice up your love life but it can also produce barriers and cause resentment.
Talk to your partner about what sexual positions you enjoy, things you have tried and things you would like to try.
Make sure you make it very clear to your partner if there are any positions or sexual activities you are not willing to take part in for example anal or oral sex, bondage, bestiality, sex in public places etc etc.
If your partner has some expectations of you that you are not comfortable with DO NOT feel obligated to perform these acts.
A partner who respects you should understand that there are some things you are not comfortable with and should NOT feel like they can pressurize you into anything you don't feel comfortable doing.
Once you have spoken to your partner about your expectations and you have both come to an agreement on what you both want if you are happy to take the relationship to the next level then go for it.
Feeling comfortable enough to be intimate with a partner is a big step and should only be done when both parties are absolutely ready.
If you cannot come to an agreement about what your expectations are then agree to talk again at a later date when you have both had time to think about the situation and maybe even have talked to some friends or family members about the subject and see if they can offer you any advice or suggestions on the matters that are causing you to feel uncomfortable.
After a few days try talking to your partner again.
By this time you should have both been able to sit and think about how much the other person means to you and if this is something you really want to do.
Remember, If you still do not feel comfortable do not sleep with your partner.
